Dairy farmers and those involved in the dairy industry are invited to attend the lameness seminar featuring Roger Blowey, in the Waubesa room at 10:30 on 4th, 6th and 7th October. The seminar will focus on lameness prevention, improving hoof health and using a daily footbath for the prevention of foot infections. Hooftrimmers can also benefit from Roger Blowey extensive experience in this field and are invited to attend a talk focussing on hooftrimming, hoof structure and hoof trimming techniques in the Kegonsa room, October 5th at 10:30.
Roger Blowey (FRCVS) is a specialist in cattle health and production and is particularly interested in preventative medicine and the interaction of nutrition, disease and environment on the productivity of livestock units. He is the author to the book, Cattle Lameness and Hoofcare and has had experience in helping farmers and veterinarians worldwide battle lameness in dairy cattle. He will also be available to address individual questions at the end of the conference.
